When reject is the majority path
Several UK publishers now see more Reject than Accept on mobile web. Product still ships. People still read, search, and subscribe. The analytics property, if it only listens after a grant, describes a minority with nicer demographics and quieter ad blockers.
Consent-Aware Analytics Design does not try to statistically “restore” the missing majority with lookalikes that re-identify. It builds a parallel, coarse narrative: which templates were served, which forms completed, which cache keys were hot. Those are operational facts, not behavioural dossiers.
The political problem is harder than the schema. Boards were trained on a single conversion rate. Split the pack: granted analytics on the left, reject-majority operations on the right, coverage percentage in the header. Someone will ask you to average them. Refuse.
Subscription flows are the exception people misuse. A completed checkout already has a relationship. That does not license you to attach last week’s anonymous article opens. Keep the join keys you actually have a basis for, and write the ones you do not have in the reporting contract as absent.
If your reject share is the story, put it in the first sentence of the weekly note. Hiding it in a footnote is how the next agency pitch sells “recovery” you cannot lawfully buy.
